BREEAM certification in use for the Arboretum Business Park

The Arboretum Business Park, located in Cornellà de Llobregat, is a complex consisting of five office buildings, two of which -Sauce and Olivo- have been subject to the certification process. Built between 2007 and 2009, they have three floors below ground for parking and three floors above ground. The complex houses several companies and its owner, Proemio SL, had as its main objective to enhance the value of the buildings by improving their environmental performance and general condition.

In addition to the BREEAM In Use (Very Good level) and WELL certifications, the project included a risk report for the flood zone, as well as technical inspections to evaluate the current state of the buildings and detect possible problems and opportunities for improvement.

Outstanding sustainable strategies

• Implementation of a system to reduce water consumption through low-flow toilets and leak detection to minimize losses and improve water efficiency.
• Installation of air quality and temperature sensors to ensure a healthy indoor environment.
• The design of the buildings takes advantage of natural light and views to the outside, and includes rest areas to improve the well-being of users.
• Preparation of a flood risk report and a natural hazards report, as well as a building condition report to anticipate problems and plan preventive improvements.
