We have developed sustainability certifications for senior living facilities located throughout Spain. The facilities are designed so that seniors can live with all basic services provided—physical therapy, dining, medical care, hair salon services, common areas, and recreational activities—regardless of whether they have specific healthcare needs.
The project included BREEAM certification services, life cycle assessment (LCA), energy consulting, and building envelope commissioning, achieving BREEAM “Very Good” and “Good” ratings depending on the facility.
Our team provided support in the initial evaluation of the various design options, adapting the sustainability strategy to the specific requirements of each site. Accessibility was a central criterion of the project: all rooms and common areas were designed to be accessible, ensuring that the building meets the actual needs of its future residents.
This recognition confirms the project's commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and the well-being of its residents.
The facilities in Sabadell and Lleida have achieved reductions of 80% and 86%, respectively, in building-related CO2 emissions.
The Sabadell facility achieved a 78% improvement in final energy use, while the Lleida facility achieved a 50% improvement, thanks to photovoltaic generation and the efficiency of the building envelope.
Rainwater harvesting and water-efficiency measures significantly reduce the demand for municipal water.
