Logistik Gavilanes is the first LEED V4 GOLD Certified industrial warehouse in the world.

The Project

The project consisted of the construction of a state-of-the-art logistics warehouse to improve operational efficiency and minimise its environmental impact. Located in a strategic area for distribution, the building integrates sustainability, energy efficiency and user wellbeing criteria, achieving LEED Gold certification, one of the most internationally recognised in sustainable construction.

Zero Consulting participated as a sustainability consultant, ensuring compliance with LEED criteria during design, construction and commissioning.

Outstanding sustainable strategies

  • Energy optimization: efficient HVAC and ventilation systems were incorporated, along with LED lighting and automatic controls, reducing the building's energy consumption.
  • Efficient water management:rainwater and grey water reuse systems were implemented for irrigation and internal processes, reducing potable water consumption.
  • Sustainable and low-impact materials:priority was given to the use of recycled and locally sourced materials, reducing transport emissions and the environmental impact of construction.
  • Indoor environmental quality:air filtration systems and daylighting strategies were installed, improving worker health and comfort.
  • Sustainable mobility and site management: promoted the use of sustainable transport for employees and optimised waste management during construction.

Results

LEED Gold Certification

The warehouse achieved LEED Gold certification, validating its performance in energy efficiency, resource management, and indoor environmental quality.

Reduced Energy Consumption

Thanks to optimized facilities and lighting controls, the building reduces energy consumption by more than 25% compared to a conventional warehouse.

Efficient water management

The water reuse system saves up to 40% of potable water consumption for irrigation and internal processes.

Responsible use of materials

The project prioritized materials with recycled content and locally sourced materials, reducing transportation emissions and contributing to the circular economy in construction.
